More Disney Tattoos for you!

By Frances

I’ve come to the conclusion that Mouze Kateerz fans love Disney more than anyone else. Here are more photos from fans showing their love and dedication to the mouse.

tattoo

I got this tattoo because I love all things Disney, especially Walt Disney World and Mickey Mouse! It reminds me a bit of Hidden Mickeys. Also, my fiance calls me Mickey. This is my favourite tattoo, because its Disney, something I will never get sick of! I can’t wait to get more Disney tattoos!
~ Michaela Diggins

mickey tattoo

This was my first Disney tattoo and I love it.  It was just a way for me to always have a little Disney magic with me.

I am currently having a half sleeve Disney tattoo designed for me but it’s been a work in progress.

I started out wanting a bunch of my favourite characters from the original feature length animated films but soon realized my arm isn’t that big and to be honest certain characters just don’t look good together.

No matter what design I end up with the tattoo will have my tattoo artists (who happens to be my husband) and my own artistic flair added.

Once I get it done this summer I will send you a picture.~ Lisa C.

alice tat    mickey balloons

The Alice in Wonderland is still in the works. I have to do it in sections and will be adding more scenes once she is done. Just thought Alice theme would make a great sleeve.
Mickey Balloons, the blue is for my grandson Tristen, red is for granddaughter Khloe and the purple for my youngest grand daughter Noelani. If we have more then I shall all more to my back.
Swirl design on my feet were my first Disney tats and thought that was a good way so show others my love for Disney.
Tink on my leg. She represents me, she is sprinkling pixie dust and the stars in the dust, 5 in all are for each surrogate baby I had. ( I was a surrogate mother) The flowers were picked out by both of my daughters Brittany and Katy.

Disney Tattoos for You!

By Frances

Mouze Kateerz has had such great responses from post about the Disney tattoo that we are updating a post to bring you even more inspirations for your own.

mickey tattoo

My tattoo pays homage to my great love of Mickey, but that’s not all!  My children and husband’s initials are in there too!

Lisa

Tattoo

I got mine after running the Disney Half Marathon and for my love of Disney. I saw this image on merchandise at Disney years before adding my own flair and getting it inked. ~ Angela Beadle.

tattoo    Tattoo

The Mickey head on my hand was my 15th wedding anniversary present this Feb! It is my “brand”…I have a passion for all things Disney and the Mouse!
The larger tattoo is very recent, I just got this one April 20th…it represents my love for Disney and my kids! I have 3 kids who’s names all begin with “C”…so each had their own icon here: Jiminy represents my oldest daughter Cricket (her real name), next is my daughter Camdyn with the pink Minnie bow (and pixie dust), and the castle for my son Castle Elias. There is even a “hidden mickey” in there!
~Casie Crowder, Sumter, SC

It’s my favorite Quote from Walt. Some hidden mickeys and all connected with a Dumbo hat.

Keep is in my handwriting. Moving is my moms handwriting. Forward is my late dads handwriting.

So special.  ~ Ellen Conner

Mufasa

Please meet Mufasa. He is our ever so loving cat named after the Lion King. We adopted him from our neighbor a couple of months back and he was already named Mufasa so we kept it. He came from a litter of kittens. His brothers and sisters are: Pumba, Simba, Ed, Scar, Nalah & Raffaki.~ Frances

Here is our “Princess” Belle.  We had lost our kitty in July of 2012 after having him for 16 years.  He was our childrens(10 and 7) first loss of a pet.  They kept asking for a new pet ever since.  My husband and I kept saying maybe in the Spring we would think about it.  In late September Belle started showing up on our deck here and there, then everyday sleeping on our patio chairs.  We started feeding her because the weather was getting cold.  I called the Human Society to see if they could find out if she belonged to someone.  They called me back that afternoon, and she was thrown out by her current family because they didn’t want her.  She is a year and a half, de-clawed and fixed.  Just thrown out because she didn’t fit in there life anymore!!!  She pulled on all of our heartstrings and now is part of our family!!  She is now the Princess of our house and rules the roost!   We love her very much.
Thanks!!

I don’t have a Disney dog by name.  We adopted Liam after he was nearly a year old from a New York Humane Society.  He was not named after any Disney characters and seldom even rocks Disney accessories but one Christmas I managed to get him to slip on his Mickey Mouse ears.  He does enjoy watching Disney movies with me, particularly Lady and the Tramp and for some reason he really likes animation styles like Nightmare Before Christmas.  He has enjoyed many toys and treats from my husband and my adventures in the parks including a “Pitch a Stitch” frisbee and Mickey Tire.  I would send pics but those toys have since been destroyed beyond recognition. lol.

Top 10 Souvenirs the Mouze Kateerz Fanz Just Can’t Pass Up On A Disney Vacation

574631233674480132_lXkrpzyl_b

By Amanda, Disney’s Cheapskate Princess.

Purchasing souvenirs is a huge part of most Disney vacations. My kids save money for months so they’ll have some cash to spend at the Happiest Shopping Place on Earth. We checked with the Mouze Kateerz Fanz to find out what souvenirs they just had to purchase on vacation (regardless of the price.)

Here’s the Top 10 List straight from the fanz!

Avoid These 10 Mistakes That Can Wreck a Disney World Vacation

1. Disney Dolls

Rebecca Yahn, “We always buy the Disney plush characters. On our last trip my daughter took two with her from home and returned from the trip with 5, that’s right, 5 more.”

2. Mouse Ears

Courtney McWilliams, “Mouse ears! There are so many fabulous designs that my girl always wants a new pair! “

Stephanie Barnett, “Ears! My kids always get them every time no matter what.”

3. Christmas Ornaments

Sarah Estelle-Hintz, “A Christmas ornament that we have the date put on. That way every year when we decorate we can relive each vacation.”

Amy Velueman, “We always go by the old Christmas Shoppe in Liberty Square and get a new red Mickey ornament.”

Marie Hackman, “A yearly Disney ornament. We hope to have enough to create an heirloom tree for our children! Each one will be of a tangible memory of an amazing time we had as a family!”

Carrie Funk, “I always get at least one really nice ornament like a Wedgewood, preferably with the year on it so we can remember that trip. But I also buy the Mickey shaped ornaments and the movie specific ornaments. My tree is 90-95% Disney.”

Kim Howe, “I always get a new Disney ornament. Something that will remind me of that specific vacation, so I can remember it each year as I trim the tree.”

4. Dooney and Bourke

Karen Maser, “Dooney and Bourke Disney bags!”

Shirley Grant,“Xmas ornaments and a Dooney & Bourke Disney bag!!!”

Anne Barnes, “Dooney and burke wristlet!”

Can a Cheapskate Princess Afford a Dooney & Bourke Disney Handbag?

5. Pins

Jennifer Hollar, “Pins!”

Shelly Nelson, “Pins. We collect NBC, Figment and Cheshire, holiday ones and keep our eyes open for unique ones.”

6. Jewelry

Amy Shelley, “I always buy some jewelry. I drool over the really expensive Mickey Mouse silhouette diamond earrings, but generally end up with something in sterling. I bought copper-colored pearl Mickey Mouse earrings a few trips ago. They are larger than I like, but are quite unique. My current favorite earrings are small clear stones set in a sterling setting in the shape of…you guessed it, Mickey Mouse!”

Jenn Murphy, “I can’t buy ‘anything’ I want…no D&B bags for me…. but within reason ,yes.  I see, I buy, like my cute ring I got at the gift shop and enjoy wearing.”

Dee Dean, “I usually get a piece of jewelry…I am in good company here, haha! A ring or a charm for my bracelet to remind me of each trip.”

Chrystie Wojcik, “Last 3 trips, a Dooney. I thought I’d get a sericel on those trips, but didn’t. The fist year I took my son there was a spot at the Marketplace where we got a painting made using his and my handprints, and I really wanted that to be the park souvenir every trip, but they only had that the first trip.”

Tracy Bollman, “I have to get a bead for my Pandora bracelet and I always have to get a hoodie.”

7. Mugs

Jenn Murphy “Mugs! I love mugs. And at $12-15.00 a pop, it’s something for me to buy multiple mugs on every trip. What better way to remember a lovely vacation than sipping warm tea out of a fun souvenir mug? (I love my new Epcot France mug.)”

Nancy Ahlsen, “Mugs for me as well!!!! But only specific kinds. Tinker bell, DVC, Alice and one time I scored one with the fairy godmother on it!

8. T-shirts

Paul Saint, “I HAVE to get, at least, one Disney T-shirt. I like to get the ones I can’t find anywhere else.”

Aimee Lucia-Sinopoli, “Mickey t-shirt for my son.”

Save Money on Disney World T-Shirts by Making Your Own!

9. Key Chains

My Disney buddy Heather Love hit two categories, “Key chains so I can think of Disney every time I use my keys. (I still get the cheaper ones though; I cannot help it). And coffee mugs because I drink it every day.”

10. Club 33 Merchandise

Kathleen Huge must be doing her shopping at Disneyland, as she suggests, “Club 33 merchandise!”

Here’s my favorite answer though, as I am definitely a cheapskate at heart.

Michael Boehm, “Heh, I’m cheap. I don’t buy anything ‘regardless of price’.”

There you have it, the Mouze Kateerz fanz Top 10 best souvenirs to buy at Disney, somewhat regardless of the price.

Traveling to the Walt Disney World Resort from the United Kingdom Part 1

By Janine P

We have fairly recently returned from our first trip to the Walt Disney World Resort with our 2 year old daughter, Tink.  My husband and I have both been several times before but this was to be the first taste of America for the smallest Pipe.  She had been to Disneyland Paris with us this June for a very quick 2 night visit and had both thoroughly enjoyed it (we rode It’s a Small World about 1,000 times) and was over-awed (she literally screamed when she saw King Louis and Baloo).
We booked this trip back in March 2012 for September 22 through October 6, 2012.  This was a short time period of planning for us, but the holiday was very much a last minute decision.  We last visited in 2009 when I was pregnant with Tink and didn’t think that we would be able to afford to return until a planned family visit in 2014.  But sometimes life deals you a card which makes you think just go for it, and so we did.
Being old hands at Florida holidays made the planning and booking process a lot easier.  I still laugh when to think of when the Travel Agent phoned me trying to sell me some tickets to Universal.  No thanks I said, we won’t be going this year.  But do you know about such and such they asked?  This is my 5th and my husbands 7th visit I replied.  Oh was the answer, well you probably know more about it than me then.  Teehee.
We booked the flight, hotel and car hire through said Travel Agent but online rather than in the store which allegedly saved us some time and money.  We booked the tickets to Disney through Disney directly but bought the 14 day Hoppers which are only available for UK customers.  We opted to upgrade our flight to Premium seats which meant we had a dedicated check-in, extra baggage allowance, complimentary food and drinks etc.  Well worth it with a pre-schooler as it was her first flight and 9.5 hours of sitting down with nothing to do was not going to happen!  She actually did pretty well on the flights, refused to sleep the whole way there but made good use of watching Mickey Mouse on the iPad and playing with the huge bag of surprises I’d brought for her.  Luckily she did sleep most of the way home, thank goodness as it was an over-night flight!  There was one small child who was really wailing for part of the flight and I just felt so sorry for them and their parents, it can’t be any fun with a grouchy child and disapproving looks from fellow passengers.  We put her in her PJs and made sure she had her favorite pillow and blanket and that really helped too.  We also brought her bed time sippy cup so she could have her usual milk and hot chocolate, so she had all her bedtime signals.  I really think this worked more than anything to get her to sleep.  A big tip was to buy toddler sized head phones.  The ones provided on the plane would have been way too big and hers were pink, just what every 2 year old princess-in-training wants.
We booked a Dodge Caravan as we wanted plenty of space even though it was just the 3 of us.  We really liked this car and would happily have one again.  It just about fit all the stuff we carted around with us each day!  We chose to take our car seat and stroller rather than hire them Stateside as Tink likes what she knows and knows what she likes.  As the stroller is a MaClaren Volo it is really lightweight and folds up super quick anyway.  Having a stroller was a Godsend, even when Tink didn’t want to use it we laden it up with the bags in the Parks so we could carry extra stuff without worrying about the weight.
As this was a quickie/cheapie holiday we did not stay on-site at WDW but just outside in Lake Buena Vista.  We stayed in the Clarion Inn on Palm Parkway and were about a 2 minute drive from the first WDW sign and just over 5 from DTD.  The hotel was perfect for us as we had requested a ground floor room, lots to do and places to eat with in walking distance and a very short drive to the Parks.  It might not have been as fancy as some of the WDW hotels (Oh Grand Flo I dream of staying in you one day) but it did us fine for what is was needed for and we would happily return.
Please stay tuned for Part 2
