This Disney Packing List Worked for Me. It Can Work For You Too!

Disney monorail

Packing for a vacation, most especially your expensive Disney vacation, is such a big deal. My husband and I used to haul in two back packs for us and our two children every time we entered into the parks. Faced with bag check lines and sore shoulders, we narrowed it down to one with room to spare.

Disney backpack, Disney bag, Disney purse

Here is our must-have list for the Disney back pack.

  1. Tickets 🙂
  2. Condensed wallet: Driver License, room key with charging capabilities and a few dollars cash. You can leave your Costco membership card at home or in the room. It’s not going to benefit you at the parks.
  3. Two bottles of water. I freeze them during the hotter months.
  4. Small bottle of Hand Sanitizer.
  5. Baby Wipes. Even with older kids, it’s nice to be able to quickly clean your hands.
  6. Sunscreen & lip balm with SPF.  Some people don’t realize you definitely can get a sunburn in December while in sunny Florida.
  7. Granola bars, trail mix or goldfish. Nice quick snacks to tie you over till your reservation. I would avoid chocolate because it melts.
  8. Rain Ponchos for everyone. They don’t have to be expensive. I use the ones that are less than $1 at Target and Wal-Mart. They are very small and I can toss them in the trash after I use them if I need to. I usually take eight per trip and take four in the backpack.
  9. During hotter months, I take a washcloth in a Zip Lock bag. I can wet it down and to help keep cooler. Zip Lock bags can also keep your camera dry.
  10. Hairbrush to untangle my daughter’s hair midday.
  11. Camera, and maybe extra batteries.

Disney surry bike, Disney surrey bikeThe well-planned backpack, or any sort of bag, is essential for your day at the parks.

Packing everything you need for the day can keep your trip costs down and make your life far easier, and your vacation much more fun, when you don’t have to worry about everything you forgot.

  1. Excellent list, I add my insurance card just to be on the safe side….

  2. Great list! I also keep a snack sized baggie with a pack of rolaids, a few bandaids and some chewable kids motrin in my bag it just in case!

  3. Sounds a lot like the bag we bring. Though we do no always bring water with us, depends on the time of year. As Disney at quick stations provides free water cups! I do also bring a few meds and a couple band-aids most times. Meds are like ibuprofen/aspirin, Imodium, pepto…you never know how the day is going to go! 😉 Most often went for is headache meds. Like the baggie idea – haven’t always done this…definitely should bring some of those esp toward summer…those unpredictable FL rain showers! Oh, have to agree, I usually bring my ID, debit/credit card, and insurance info. That’s how slimmed down my wallet gets for a day at Disney.

  4. Great list! We also bring our “PassPorter” maps, since they list everything by name (rather than by number and then referring to a key).

  5. Take your washcloth and wrap it around one of the frozen water bottles and then put it into a ziplock bag for in the Summer Months.

  6. These are all great items to bring and ideas of how stay cooler. Thanks for adding to the list!!

  7. Great list!! I’ll definitely keep this in mind when the day comes that I have to tour the parks with kids. For now I stick to my modified version of what you have in my tiny winnie the pooh bag. Oh and cereal in a ziploc baggie makes a great snack!! I always have coco puffs and love to eat them while waiting in line.

  8. Great idea about the rain ponchos. Thanks!

  9. Excellent, what a weblog it is! This webpage provides valuable data to us,
    keep it up.

  10. I was suggested this blog by my cousin. I’m not
sure whether this post is written by him as nobody else know such detailed about my problem.
    You’re wonderful! Thanks!
